The Ear and Allied Research (EAR) Foundation was established in 1987 as a foundation of the University of Sydney. The primary objective of the EAR Foundation is to raise funds to support the work of SCIC - Sydney Cochlear Implant Centre.
The EAR Foundation is managed by a Council that consists of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Treasurer and members. A representative of the Adult and Children's programme is included in the Council.
Money raised by the EAR Foundation is used to provide the opportunity for profoundly deaf adults and children to access the cochlear implant, allowing them to become part of the hearing world.
The EAR Foundation also supports research undertaken by SCIC into the provision of hearing, speech and communication ability for those using the cochlear implant. |
